Placer County Foreclosure Report - December 2009

In their monthly report, www.foreclosureradar.com has reported that foreclosures dropped in Placer County during December 2009 when compared to November 2009, but were up when compared to December 2008.

Notice of Defaults were down over 30% and Notice of Trustee's Sales were down over 20% state wide when compared to November.

They do not believe that this decline was due to any seaonal change, but rather to a systematic increase in cancellations of trustee sales. They believe that these cancellations were due in part to statuatory time limits on foreclosure notices and filling errors, but due primarily to the inclusion of as many as 60% of homes in foreclosure in either a short sale, loan modification or refinance process.
