There were 69 homes, 3 condos, 0 parcels of land and 0 multi-unit income properties sold in Placer County between December 28th, 2009 and January 3rd, 2010 in Metrolist MLS. 20 of the properties sold were bank owned and 21 were short sales. This is the first time we have recorded a week where closed short sales have exceeded closed REOs. Of course, short sales listed for sale still far outnumber bank owned homes listed for sale.

The least expensive property that sold in Placer County during the period was a 803 square-foot bank owned condo on Sapphire Drive in Auburn, which sold for $57,500 after being listed for $55,000. The most expensive property that was sold in Placer County during the period was a new 6,426 square-foot bank owned home on Monte Sereno Drive in Loomis, which sold and closed just two days after being listed for $970,000 cash after being listed for $899,000. The same property sold in October 2005 for $1,900,000.
